Online Safety is an integral aspect of ensuring the well-being of students at St Laurence CE Junior Academy. We have implemented security measures to safeguard pupils from potential online dangers or inappropriate content. All online safety incidents are documented and managed, and comprehensive e-Safety education is provided to all students to instil the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the digital world safely.

To achieve success in maintaining a secure online environment, collaboration with parents is crucial to ensure a consistent e-Safety message. Parents are encouraged to engage in conversations with their children about staying safe and behaving appropriately online.

It is imperative to approach online safety realistically, acknowledging that banning the internet or technology is not a viable solution. Instead, education on safe usage is essential for empowering students to make responsible choices online.

Internet Matters, a not-for-profit organization supported by BT, Sky, TalkTalk, and Virgin Media, offers a user-friendly online portal providing parents with practical advice on online safety for children of all ages. Additionally, ParentINFO, a collaboration between ParentZone and CEOP, offers useful guides and articles to assist parents in helping their children stay safe online.
