Did you know… just registering your child for Free School Meals means that the school gets extra money? Register now to make sure we all don’t miss out

The Government is giving money to schools to help children from lower income families do their very best. This funding is called a “Pupil Premium”.

For every child registered we will be able to reduce the cost of school trips and activities. It will enable us to run some exciting projects in school and get outside groups to come in and present to your child.

Please register before Christmas to make sure your child and others in school don’t miss out.

How does it work?

First check if you qualify – it is not just if your unemployed so please look at the list below:

  • Income Support
  • Income based Job Seekers Allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guarantee element of the State Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit

If you qualify please call into school for a form to complete. It is only 1 page. It does not affect your benefits at all.

If your child has a free healthy meal at lunchtimes that’s great – and the school will get the extra funding. If you don’t want them have the free meal they can carry on as normal as long as you qualify and register the school still gets the extra.
