This week we traveled by coach to Kent Life. We experinced what it was like to an evacuee in WWII. They also saw some farm animals and took part in various different workshops.

We wrote letters to the actors who played parts in the Nativity musical.

The whole school has been making Christmas card designs. The winning design will be sent to all the schools in Thanet.

This week year 6 have been writing a film review about the movie Wonder Park. Our reviews are being entered into a competition with the chance to win a £200 cinema voucher for the school and various other prizes.

We are sponsoring a gorgeous guide dog called sky. We are raffling a bear and tickets are on sale until next Thursday. The raffle will take place on Friday, tickets are on sale in the year 6 area.

This week the whole school went on a trip to the Marlowe Theatre to watch the West end show called 'The Nativity'. Everyone really enjoyed the show.

In PE lessons this term we have been doing various gymnastic activities and keeping records of them. We will review our records at the end of term to see if we have improved. The class are also learning how to play Basketball.

Churchill class were supposed to go to the cinema on Monday but the weather was too bad to travel. So instead we created a mini cinema in the school hall instead.

Canterbury Cathedral

This week year 6 went on a trip to Canterbury Cathedral for a worship workshop. During the day we took part in many different activities such as singing, book making, stone masonry and prayer carousels.

Science

This term we are learning about electricity. We have designed and made our own circuits. The class has also learned how to stay safe around electrical appliances and how electricity is transported to our homes.

House Captains

This year, year 6 pupils had the opportunity to try and become house IMG 1131captains. They wrote manifestos and presented them to all the children in their house. The children then voted for a year 6 boy and girl to represent the house.
